"We've owned our 1920 center stair colonial in Cleveland Heights for 9 years and I've wanted to have it painted since we moved in. It is a very large home situated on a corner lot and the only quote we've ever gotten to paint it was so far out of our ability to afford that I became determined to tolerate the ugly brown painted wood shingles. Then Cleveland Heights performed their exterior inspection and required us to have the house scraped and painted.

 

I knew Joe Shaker, owner of JSS Construction & Painting, through a networking group we attend. So I had Joe come out and give me a quote. The quote was incredibly thorough and specific, indicating exactly what the estimate entailed - number of painters, days to scrape and prep, days to paint, number of gallons of primer and paint, etc. It was a fair and reasonable price, though still more money than we had to spare. Joe then worked with me to divide the job into thirds, being careful to be specific and making sure that the areas I felt were priorities were painted first. We requested a dramatic color change, and Joe patiently waited to schedule us until I was certain about my color selection. Then his crew got to work.

 

They were friendly, diligent and helpful. Joe even went above and beyond to cut down a tree stump in our yard! When there was any question about how I wanted something painted, Josh who was managing the painting crew made sure to speak with me directly. There were no paint chips left behind after scraping, there was never any trash from the crew in my yard, they were easy to talk with and I felt completely at ease to leave them with access to my garage when I wasn't home. And the front and one side of my house are gorgeous! I can't wait until spring when the next section will be done!"
